How many times have you said or heard someone say: “I can’t do yoga because (insert self-deprecating phrase about body here),” “My belly is too big,” “My muscles are too tight,” or “I’m not strong enough,” etc.? The list goes on and on. Whoever decided you have to have a strong, thin, or flexible body to practice yoga?! How can we create a safe, body-positive environment for the yoga practice?
In this dynamic and interactive workshop, we’ll explore the surreptitious forces that shape how we relate to our bodies and ourselves. You’ll come away with simple, yoga-based practices for building emotional resilience, self-compassion, and body confidence. This session includes discussion, light asana, and meditation.
This workshop is recommended for yogis of all levels of practice experience.
