The keys that open your potent heart reside in your own anatomy and awareness. In this workshop, we will focus on yoga postures that extend the hips and spine, opening the front chain of the body and contracting the back. Through an in-depth exploration into the balance of strength and mobility required in each body region, we will work intelligently to move safely through the fundamental backbends and to the threshold of intermediate backbends, “Urdhva Dhanurasana,” or upward-facing bow pose. This “gateway” backbend and its component parts will serve as our entry point into greater awareness around not just our yoga practice, but our potential for stable and expansive living in all areas.
Some yoga practice experience is recommended for attendees of this workshop.
